How it began
The messy ones, the funny ones and the “look what I made!” ones.
From the first time they picked up a paintbrush to proudly bringing us their latest creation, we saw how much joy, confidence and imagination could come from simply giving them the opportunity to make something themselves.
We loved putting out the paints, discovering new materials together, trying different crafts and watching them become completely absorbed in an idea. And we loved seeing how proud they were afterwards.
It made us think: why not create a place where lots of little artists could experience that too? A place to explore different materials, try new techniques, get messy, be imaginative and, most importantly, have fun.
That is where Mini Makers Craft Club came from. Something created from our love of art, our love of watching children learn and our belief that every child is creative.

I am the founder of The Makery at Great Ashley House in Winsley, where I host creative craft classes and wellbeing workshops alongside talented local makers and professionals.
While raising my daughter, we discovered a shared love of making, creating and crafting. Together we have explored all sorts of materials, techniques and crafts, and creativity has become an important part of our family life.
That experience was a big part of creating Mini Makers: giving other children and their grown-ups the chance to enjoy that same sense of creativity, discovery and connection.
